On October 3 The Derryfield School put shovels into the ground on a new dining commons. Thanks in part to a generous donation of $2,500,000, the largest single gift in the School’s 58-year history, the entire Derryfield community will now be able to gather as one, in a building that will tie the campus together as originally envisioned during the master facilities planning process.

The second day of fall brought with it the first blustery and cool evening of the year. That didn’t stop the more than 1,000 fans who came out to support first responders as they took to the diamond at Manchester’s Delta Dental Stadium in support of patients and critical programs at Dartmouth Health Children’s and the Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (CHaD). Team Police proudly took home the trophy after an 8-7 win over Team Fire on September 23 2022, while the game raised $124,000 and counting.

The annual event honors New Hampshire individuals or groups that have advanced or exercised their First Amendment rights in some special or extraordinary way. Bissonnette was nominated for his work with stakeholders to improve the public’s right of access to information so the public can hold the government accountable, including a successful legal effort to reverse a 27-year-old precedent from 1993 that shielded the personnel files of government employees, including law enforcement, from public view.

The concert is set for Thursday, October 6, at 7:30 p.m. and will include Irish songs, sacred hymns, and popular standards. The backdrop will be the refurbished cathedral, after more than $750,000 in renovations completed less than two months ago.

This support to the community is shown on Saturday, September 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at  Veterans Park where hope presents its Recovery Festival. This event draws more than 500 folks with friends and family who come to celebrate and honor the power of recovery which transforms lives, families and neighbors. In attendance are more than 40 representatives from local recovery residences, treatment and recovery centers, health agencies and various other pathways to recovery. The festival offers fun, music and such swag as free Covid home tests, courtesy of the Manchester health department, free Naloxone, courtesy of the Manchester Doorway and lots of complimentary candy.
