Governor Chris Sununu on Tuesday wrote to members of the Fiscal Committee in request of authorization of funds to facilitate a state active-duty operation of the New Hampshire National Guard in support of security activities at the southern United States border to protect New Hampshire citizens from harm.

Two concept maps were presented at the public input session. Core elements of both concepts include a vegetated lawn and path as a gateway to the library, an amphitheater or stage area in the middle and an active play area on the right toward the parking lot. Other features include a shade or rain shelter area, a garden, market stalls for the Nashua farmers market and table seating, the addition of bike racks and an area for food trucks.

Soon after the New Year came around in 2024, Republican lawmakers in the New Hampshire state government submitted a series of bills aimed at fundamentally ending all legal recognition of any kind for transgender individuals. Bills submitted this year echo those submitted last year, which were part of a nationwide effort to deny transgender people access to medical care, use of public restrooms, and disallowing playing on sports teams that conform with their gender identity, among others.
