They were among thousands of police officers who traveled from across the country to attend the funeral and pay final respects to Officer Wenjian Liu, an NYPD officer who was shot to death Dec. 20 while on patrol, along with his partner, Officer Rafael Ramos.
According to the New York Times, the number of officers assembled makes this the “largest sendoff” for a fallen officer in the history of the NYPD.

Officers Derek Feather and Tyler Shaw located the victim, a 30-year-old male, outside of 305/307 Cedar Street who was bleeding profusely due to a stab wound in his abdomen. Both officers assisted the injured man while additional officers responded and set-up a perimeter to locate the suspect.
As of 4:30 p.m. one person was taken into custody and the male victim has been transported to a local hospital and treated for his non-life threatening wound.
Police are investigating a report of an active shooter, and are searching the woods near Hackett Hill.
Curtis Massey, 17, was allegedly involved in a Dec. 10 robbery of a female cab driver at approximately 11:45 p.m. in addition to a second robbery involving a male cab driver on December 13, 2014 , at approximately 9:40 p.m.
The following dogs were located; Shar Pei (Value $550), Papillion ($540), Cocker Spaniel ($500), 2-Pyranees puppies ($165/$140), 2-Chocolate Labrador Retrievers ($440/$440)), Chihuahua ($265), Maltese ($540), Dachshund ($400), 2-Cocker-Poo puppies ($455/$455) and a Beagle ($215). The total value is $5,105.
“[The police officer] ran across the road and I heard him yell to the kid, ‘put the dog down,’ and before you know it there was four kids on the ground and a dozen cruisers here,” Manning said. “You don’t mess with the Manchester Police.”
After the arrest of Christopher Martinez for a Dec. 12 shooting a search was conducted of the van he was in and detectives located several items including: a .380 caliber handgun (stolen out of Florida); heroin (53.4 grams); five separate prescription pills including oxycodone.
