Should high school students be able to use phones in Manchester’s public schools? That’s one of the topics expected to be under discussion during Monday’s Board of School Committee (BOSC) Meeting.
Starting Monday, July 8, children in Manchester will have another option to get free, nutritious meals. Manchester School District is taking part in the USDA’s SUN Meals program, offering breakfast and lunch at numerous schools around the city.Â
Manchester Proud (MP) is excited to announce the new leadership team of Debby Miller and Aimee Kereage as Co-Directors. Debby and Aimee will report to the Champion’s Council (Manchester Proud’s Board) continuing the momentum that Manchester Proud has built up over the past 6 years under Barry Brensinger’s leadership. Barry has made the decision to step down from his leadership role to enjoy retirement, he will remain a member of the Council and involved in MP’s work.Â
Manchester School District announced on June 28 that Kelly Williams has been named the new principal at McLaughlin Middle School. Williams’ selection was approved by the Board of School Committee at its meeting Monday night.Â

Imagine a classroom where the sky’s the limit; a classroom immersed in the natural world where daily assignments require you to examine a starfish in the palm of your hand or explore the organisms coexisting in a single intertidal pool by reaching in and pulling out a giant snail, a tiny crab or a burrowing barnacle.
It was all fun and games, as it should be for kids teetering on the edge of 10. Still, there was a hint of sadness in their eyes when asked if they were ready for next year, which means stepping up to middle school at Southside.
The community is invited to take part in a series of community forums on long-term planning for Manchester School District facilities. Four separate forums are scheduled, starting this Tuesday, Oct. 19.
The entire premise of lockdowns, mask/vaccine mandates and other orders is that there is a health crisis caused by coronavirus which is extremely deadly. It started as asking people to stay home for two weeks to “flatten the curve” and has grown to mandating vaccines for all. While it was harder to prove this was not the case in 2020, the data is in and it is clear that coronavirus is not as deadly as currently advertised.
Our return to school plan includes color-coded phases that are determined by the spread of COVID-19 in Manchester. In-person instruction is a top priority as we work to help students recover from the impact of the pandemic. There is no remote learning option this year.Â
