DOJ announces indictment of Manchester man

CONCORD, N.H. โ€“ On Monday, United States Attorney Scott W. Murray announced the indictment of Guillermo Garcia Esquivel, 36, of Manchester.

The charges resulted from an investigation into a string of six separate armed robberies of convenience stores in Manchester. The alleged armed robberies occurred at various Manchester convenience stores between Jan. 5, 2019 and Feb. 24, 2019.

โ€œIโ€™m very pleased to finally be able to announced that we have been working with the U.S. Attorneyโ€™s Office regarding the rash of armed robberies in our city,โ€ said Manchester Police Department Chief Carlo Capano. โ€œManchester patrol officers and detectives have worked diligently to investigate numerous robberies over several months.โ€

Along with the Manchester Police Department, the robberies were also investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. This case is part of the ATFโ€™s Project Safe Neighborhoods initiative, which is a federally-funded program intended to reduce gun violence through law enforcement training, public education and aggressive law enforcement efforts to investigate and prosecute gun-related crimes.

The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Anna Krasinski.

An indictment is merely an allegation and a defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty.
