Gang Prevention Unit seizes 2 lbs. marijuana and cash

The Manchester Police Gang Prevention Unit stopped a motor vehicle on April 2, 2018 involving Nicholas Pena, 22, of Manchester.

Pena was stopped on Laurel Street, near Belmont Street by the Gang Prevention Unit due to the fact he was operating on a suspended license.
Marijuana was seen in plain view during the initial stop, so Pena was arrested and charged with operating after suspension 2nd offense and transportation of a controlled drug. The vehicle was impounded while the officers applied for a search warrant.

They executed the warrant and located a quarter pound of marijuana hidden within his vehicle. As a result, an arrest warrant was issued from the 9th Circuit Court-Manchester for possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute (F).

On Tuesday April 10, 2018 a joint investigation with the Gang Prevention Unit, Special Enforcement Division and the Manchester SWAT Team resulted in the execution of a search and arrest warrant at Nicholas Penaโ€™s Merrimack Street residence.

The officers located two pounds of Marijuana, over $600 United States currency, scales and packaging inside of his apartment. Pena was charged with possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute (F) and contempt of court.
He is scheduled to appear in Hillsborough County Superior Court-North on April 10, 2018.
