MANCHESTER, NH โ Travis Bruce, 34, of Manchester, was arrested April 1, charged with felony theft and related charges after police determined he was involved in a “theft in progress” reported by a man who called to say he had seen someone rummaging inside his vehicle.
Manchester Police arrived in the area of Trinity Street and Woodland Avenueย at 1 a.m. where they saw a pick-up truck parkedย at the dead-end street.ย The caller stated his 4Sight dashboard camera was missing from his vehicle.
Officer Ken Brunini spoke with the female passenger inside the parkedย Dodge pick-upย truck. She identified herself as Amy Bruce, 25, of Manchester, who told police she was waiting for her husband, Travis Bruce. She claimed he was outside of the vehicle โlooking for his phone,โ but offered no other explanation for parking on a dead-end street at 1 a.m.
Officer Kevin OโMeara located a man walking toward them on Woodland Street, south of Hanover Street. Officer OโMeara identified him asย Travis Bruceย and began asking him questions about why he was parked on a dead-end street in the early morning hours. Bruceย claimed he was about to run out of gas, so he stopped to make a phone call in an attempt to find someone to bring him money.
Officers pointed out the 24-hour gas station and a plaza located within a few hundred yards of where he pulled over. The officers called a police dogย handler to the scene to conduct a track from Dionneโs previous location to dispel his claim of making a phone call.
Officer Jeff Fierimonte and his police dogย partner Bauer arrived and conducted a track from Dionneโs vehicle. The track endedย in the same area where Officer Brunini first made contact with Amy Bruce. Bauer located the stolenย 4Sight dash camera from the rear of 937 and 945 Hanover Street.
Bruce wasย arrested and charged with falsifying physical evidence, a felony;ย theft by unauthorized taking (a felony due to two prior convictions); loitering/prowling; and contempt of court, for violating active bail conditions.
