man accused of stealing tip-jar money from a downtown business is charged with theft after an incident on Elm Street Saturday morning.
The former commander of the Hillsborough American Legion Post was sentenced Friday to five years in prison for stealing more than $40,000 from the Legion’s accounts.
On July 14, 2025, in Hillsborough County Superior Court – Northern District, Jason Tessier, formerly of Derry, pleaded guilty to the charges stemming from his criminal misconduct as a home improvement contractor.
An asset protection specialist told arriving officers that around 8 p.m., a man entered the store, went to the tool section, grabbed a pair of wire cutters, and headed to the employee break room. While in the break room the man began clipping tags off of items he had been concealing under his coat. An employee told him he wasn’t allowed in the break room and he left the store.Â

The State requested a sentence that would have amounted to a minimum of 8 years in the New Hampshire State Prison, with additional suspended sentences. The Court sentenced Katsiantonis to 1½ to 3 years in State Prison with additional suspended sentences.
The women were caught on surveillance camera and now police are looking for information about their identities.
Two people were arrested after back-to-back thefts, including an incident at Kohl’s on Saturday in which one of the two assaulted a store employee as she muscled her way out of the store.
