Police seek help in identifying man who stole 2 cartons of cigarettes from convenience store

    MANCHESTER, NH – Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man who fled a corner store with two cartons of cigarettes that he didn’t pay for.

    On Aug. 18 at 10:20 a.m. the subject of the investigation entered AMT Market, 384 Massabesic Str. at 10:20 a.m. and pushed the clerk before taking two cartons of cigarettes. The assailant approached one of two clerks, a 32-year-old male, who was standing behind the counter. He asked for two cartons of cigarettes and attempted to pay with a credit card, which was declined. The man walked around the counter and pushed afemale clerk into a wall before fleeing with two cartons of cigarettes, valued at $138. The clerk was not seriously injured and the assailant never mentioned or displayed a weapon during the robbery.

    The suspect is identified based on eyewitness accounts and surveillance footage as a white or Hispanic male with dark hair and beard, last seen wearing orange shorts and a dark-colored T-shirt. Witnesses believe he left the area in an older model black or blue four-door Jeep with a temporary registration and an unknown word affixed to the hood of the Jeep.
