
MANCHESTER, NH โ A man accused of stealing tip-jar money from a downtown business is charged with theft after an incident on Elm Street Saturday morning.
According to a police narrative, on April 11, 2026, at approximately 11:25 a.m., Manchester Police responded to The Bookery atย 844 Elm St. for a reported robbery.ย ย

Arriving officers learned that a man had been in the store for a period of time and employees had noticed he had a knife. He went up to the cafรฉ counter and asked for a glass of water. After he got the water, he displayed the knife, grabbed money from the tip jar and headed outside.
Minutes later police officers located a man meeting the description of the suspect near theย Hanover Chophouse. He was found to have a knife on him.ย ย
The suspect was identified as Christopher Webber, 28, of Manchester and he wasย arrested and charged with Robbery (Armed) and Felon in Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. He will be arraigned on April 13, 2026 in Manchester District Court.
