The last time vandals with serious equipment and bad intent infiltrated Wagner Park, it was a neighbor who heard the pre-dawn sounds of destruction and called for police. By the time police arrived, the bad guys, who had scrambled up into nearby tree limbs at the sound of sirens, jumped from the branches like ninjas and disappeared into the dark.

Alderman Hirschmann’s opposition to the contract, like his failed tax cap-compliant budget, is based on false economies generated by ideology, not reality. Ward 12 voters should send him back to school to pursue a degree in economics or, failing that, a refresher course in basic math. Voting my friend Keith off the Board will give him the time needed to seek that remedial education.

After 11 years at the helm of the volunteer organization he co-founded to package and send items to troops overseas, Judge Paul Moore has resigned and MooreMart will now be known as Operation Troop Care.
