Truck catches fire after crashing into utility poles causing power outage

Address: Intersection of Goffs Falls Rd and Westwood Dr

Dispatch: 12:24 p.m.

Under Control: 12:48 p.m.

Resources: Engine 9, Truck 1, Car 1, X20 

Description of Incident: Companies were dispatched for a motor vehicle accident at Goffs Falls Road and Westwood Drive.ย  Upon arrival Engine 9 reported a box truck on fire that struck a utility pole.ย  The single occupant was out of the truck upon arrival.ย  Companies extinguished the fire and the occupant was transported with minor injuries.ย  A total of two utility poles were severed off causing power outages to the area.ย  Eversource arrived on scene and estimated repairs would last through the night.
