MANCHESTER, NH – Fire crews managed to contain a garage fire on Maplehurst Avenue late Monday night.
At 10:51 a.m. Manchester Fire crews were dispatched to 312 Maplehurst Ave. where heavy fire was showing from a 2½-story 28-by-40-foot detached garage with a second-floor living space.
Due to the location of the garage, initial access was difficult, but crews quickly knocked down of the fire and remained on scene for the extensive overhaul. The garage sustained extensive damage, and the apartment above sustained heavy fire, water and smoke damage, estimated at about $70,000.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
