MANCHESTER, NH – The public is invited to attend a ribbon-cutting on Monday, April 17, at 2 p.m. when the city will celebrate the restoration of the Civil War Monument in Veterans Park.
This local landmark was installed in 1879 and has been painstakingly restored over the past few years. Efforts included:
- Cleaning of granite blocks
- Repairs to the fountain basin, water line and pump
- Electrical upgrades
- Meticulous conservation of the bronze statues and decorative lamps
