Wintry Blast
Wintry Blast Residents across the eastern half of the country can expect a sudden blast of winter-like weather this week, as a strong surge of Arctic air pushes down from Canada, reaching as far south as the Gulf Coast.

This cold reality check serves as a reminder that meteorological winter is approaching, increasing the chances for frost, freeze, and even our first snow of the season this Sunday.

Elevations for summits above 4,000 feet in Northern New Hampshire today: Summits will be hidden with a chance of snow showers. Temperatures will reach the mid-20s, with southwest winds at 10 to 20 mph. Above 5,000 feet, west winds around 40 mph will shift to southwest at about 30 mph in the afternoon, with gusts up to 60 mph. There’s a 50% chance of snow, and wind chills could drop as low as 16 below.
Elevations between 2,500 and 4,000 feet in Northern New Hampshire today: Clouds drifting over the summits with occasional snow showers. Temperatures reaching around 30 degrees. Southwest winds at 10 to 15 mph, gusting up to 40 mph. About a 50 percent chance of snow.
