MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ย At approximately 8:40 a.m. on Nov. 23 a call to dispatch reported a building fire on the corner of Maple and Amherst streets.

Companies on scene confirmed a building fire on the first floor of a two-story occupied multifamily. Crews made entry into the front door and building, and pushed into an extremely hot and smoke-filled apartment. Multiple reports were made of people trapped on the first and second floor and crews made an extremely aggressive and dangerous push into the areas reported to have victims.

Ultimately, crews searched the building, knocked down the fire, and found no victims in the building. Two crew members received minor burns through the hoods because of the extreme environment. Fire had also dropped down into the basement and was knocked down during overhaul.
