Highway crews will be working on Hackett Hill Road October 2-3. Hackett Hill Road will be reduced to one lane in the vicinity of the Manchester Fire Station/I-293 overpass.

At about 11 a.m. Manchester Police responded to the 99 Cent and Cigarette Mart, 352 Kelley Street, for a report of an attempted armed robbery. The clerk, Qaisar Anwar, stated an unknown assailant entered the store and demanded money, armed with a small handgun. Anwar told police he picked up a hammer from beneath the counter and chased the suspect from the store.
The manager of the store called for an evacuation as a precautionary measure. Multiple officers assisted in the evacuation while continuing the investigation. Ultimately, they were able to identify a potential caller, who they believe to be a mentally challenged juvenile from outside of the City of Manchester. The juvenile will most likely not be charged for false public alarm, which is a felony level offense.

A second suspect wanted in connection with an armed robbery outside of the Holiday Inn Express has turned himself in.
According to Sgt. Brian O’Keefe, Michael Cenat will appear in District Court Sept. 30 to face armed robbery charges.
Officer Pat Mullen arrived with the transport wagon. Following protocol, he conducted a search of Morin prior to placing him into the transport wagon and while doing so, Morin became hostile towards Officer Mullen. Morin was eventually secured and seat belted into the back of the wagon, but as the officer walked out of the wagon, Morin kicked him on the side of his leg and made derogatory statements toward Morin.
“Once I jumped, I was ready for it to be over, to be honest. The harness was so tight and the noise from the airplane was so loud. But I’m glad I did it. I can relive it over and over now with the video,” says Smith.
