Though many teams from Manchester’s Central and West High School have been forced to consolidate due to lack of participation over the last few years, those who do participate continue to compete at a high level while representing the Queen City. The following is a glimpse at a few teams taking to the ice and other indoor and outdoor competition surfaces this winter.

Dan Belliveau grew up skating against Central High School. The former Nashua High player, now head coach at Merrimack High School, said he saw glimpses Wednesday of the Little Green teams that used to give the rest of the state fits when his Tomahawks faced the Central/West co-op team at Manchester’s West Side Arena.
Can you imagine a Boeing 747 powered completely by solar panels? Manchester West High School sophomore Noah Orr could and wanted to figure out if it’s possible. Orr is participating in the STEM Discovery Lab’s Agnes Lindsay STEM Fellowship Program. As part of the program, Orr is conducting a research project with the support of his mentor, University of New Hampshire Manchester Biotechnology student Tina Minard.
Yesterday the world lost Ashley Boie, a bright, young soul. At age 19, this beautiful young lady went through a 16-month battle with cancer.
