MANCHESTER, NH – Manchester Proud, a community-based movement working in partnership with the area business community, local school district, and other organizations, has rolled out a new visual identity and brand. The logo, a colorful and diverse representation of the many aspects that make Manchester so vibrant, was created by Cookson Communications in Manchester in partnership with Manchester Proud’s Communications Work Group. The Group also adopted a tagline: Championing Student Success.

“Aligning Manchester Proud’s image with the growing energy behind our movement is an important step in raising awareness of what we are trying to achieve,” said Barry Brensinger, coordinator for Manchester Proud. “We want students, teachers, parents, and community members to recognize Manchester Proud and our commitment to work with the Manchester School District to envision, plan, and achieve excellence in all public schools across the city. Thank you to everyone involved in creating this important asset.”
Manchester Proud core members will begin canvassing around the city in sectors around schools beginning on Sept. 15 to talk to residents to gain insight into issues and ideas pertaining to schools.
The logo was designed by Meredith Noyes, a Manchester resident and the chief creative officer at Cookson Communications.
“In creating the identity of Manchester Proud, I knew it needed to be something fun, vibrant, and even a bit humorous. The idea was to create something that makes you smile, something that deserves a second look, and something that could be versatile in print and social media,” Noyes said. “It needed to be something that makes people look beyond the surface; by incorporating a variety of icons, people are inclined to look closely, which draws parallels to the hidden gems and pride in the Manchester public school community.”
Manchester Proud’s new logo also brings the City’s colloquial abbreviation (and corresponding airport code) MHT into the conversation as one more way to identify with the City, harkening opportunities for taglines and additional brand building around the idea of being “Proud to be in MHT.” The group encourages all community supporters, including the many Manchester Proud Champions throughout the community, to proudly display this logo to show your support for Manchester’s schools!
