With the exception of the final weekend of football games, all other New Hampshire high school sports have now wrapped up the regular season. Several Queen City teams are among those who play on into the postseason, while many others have played their final contest. Here’s a glance at all the recent action:

But what I didn’t bet on was that I could care about the Toronto Blue Jays as much as I do right now – as in, over the past 24 hours. They ran away with Game 1 against the Dodgers Friday night and Jim and I were there for much of it – and by there I mean at Fisher Cats stadium, where Games 1 and 2 are being broadcast on the big screen in the field as well as on all TVs in the Sam Adams Brewhouse.

A request to delay the transition of a baseball field to a soccer field at Sheehan-Basquil Park during the new business portion of the Tuesday, Oct. 21 Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting was defeated following a discussion on the state of youth sports in the inner city.

The New Hampshire Fisher Cats, Double-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, will welcome baseball fans to the Sam Adams Brewhouse at Delta Dental Stadium for Games One and Two of the World Series on Friday and Saturday, October 25 and 26. Along with Fright Nights at the Field: Screaming Line Drive, fans can enjoy the ballpark atmosphere with raffles and giveaways throughout the games.
