On Tuesday, May 30, Holman Stadium will officially become part of the New Hampshire Black History Trail, when a plaque is dedicated honoring the ballyard’s role in serving as the home of the first integrated American professional baseball team in the 20th Century. The 1946 Nashua Dodgers featured  Negro Leagues veterans Roy Campanella and Don Newcombe, who along with Jackie Robinson, were the nucleus of the 1949-56 Brooklyn Dodgers Dynasty that won five National League pennants and one World Series in eight years.

Junior Mike La Rocca (Vero Beach, Fla.) knocked in a pair of runs, and sophomore Frankie Sanchez (Kendall Park, N.J.) and junior Trevor Anibal (Bedford, N.H.) allowed only three hits, as the No. 10/13 and top-seeded Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) baseball team doubled up RV/No. 26 and third-seeded Le Moyne College, 4-2, in game 2 of the NCAA Baseball Championship East Super-Regional on Saturday afternoon at Penmen Field to capture its fifth regional crown and punch its ticket to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship in Cary, N.C.

Given recent declining trends in the number of landlocked salmon available in Lake Winnipesaukee, the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department (NHFG) and the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have agreed to cancel next year’s (2024) “Winni Derby.” Currently sponsored by the BSA, the “Winni Derby,” an entry-fee-based tournament typically held each May, targets landlocked salmon as the primary species with regard to prize structure.
