Megan Philbrook, a teacher at Andover Elementary Middle School, was named New Hampshire’s 2026 Teacher of the Year during a surprise celebration on Oct. 2.
This summer, the New Hampshire Department of Education (NHED) is continuing its work with eligible organizations to serve free meals and snacks to children through the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s SUN Meals and SUN Meals To-Go, also known as the Summer Food Service Program.
The New Hampshire Department of Education made the announcement Friday. The teachers were selected from a total of 105 nominees and 29 applicants.
There are currently 38 approved charter schools in the state, with 32 schools now in operation and five planning to open in the fall of 2025.* Three additional schools are working through the application process and could potentially open in the fall of 2026.
Hands-on learning experiences may be one of the most empowering and engaging ways to educate youth and help them gain practical and essential skills.
