Well, before you crush your last pack of Marlboro’s or pay the MasterCard bill for that Peloton you charged in a moment of desperation, I have to tell you something very important: DON’T DO IT!
This time of the year, the couple days before new year, hits different for me since Little Bean was born. I’ve never written in detail about those days when she was born, and I won’t now. I suspect I never really will – the irony of not writing about one of the most frightening events in my life and writing a parenting and family column at the same time does not escape me.

There is turmoil and noise every place you turn. So, it seems like everyone is rewriting the rules these days. You can fight the stress you feel by trying this exercise as a better path to a fulfilling year.
I learned how to create a concept, a menu, an atmosphere, and, most importantly, how to work as a team within a culture of excellence. One slice of this company culture promotes is that someday you, too, could be an owner of a Great NH Restaurant.

When I knew I would become a grandmother, in addition to all the joy this brings, I realized I needed to have a “name” the child would refer to me as. So, I did what many baby boomers would do these days: I took a Facebook poll.

Last week Brenda and Michael were joined by their son Christopher at Forever Emma Studios where the Dayna Brunelli Vocal Room was unveiled. “We never dreamed that one year later we would go back at that same safe house and there were those same children,” Susn Mathison said. “While it was wonderful to see them again and be welcomed like friends, it was awful to think that these 4-to-16-year-old kids had spent the last year basically in hiding and wondering how life was at home.”

Every single family who signed up for Holiday Help received gifts for the holidays, an accomplishment made possible through the overwhelming support of the generous donors who rallied behind the Club’s mission to make the season bright for all. This was BGCM’s biggest holiday help program to date, seeing an increase of about 75% from 2022.
Throughout the year the Ancient Order of Hibernians raise over $10,000 for the annual event. Some of the money raised comes from individual and business donations. Also, members of the group work as road marshals and provide traffic control for Millenium Running, which donates to the holiday fund in exchange for their assistance.

Here in America, where the ultimate goal is to gorge ourselves with as much consumption as humanly possible, Christmas is—and always has been—about one thing: the present.
