For a low-scoring game it was rather exciting with lots of big plays and camaraderie as 20 West seniors experienced a great way to end the season. Heads up is what the coach said on both ends, and as an observer, I would agree. Both teams played well. Both teams were excited and both teams should be very proud of themselves.

“Considering we started flat, this was one of the more complete games we played this year,” said Memorial Coach Nick Gardner. “We played in spurts early on and got better as the game went on. We had better position play.” Still, it wasn’t enough as the Windham Jags earned a workmanlike 2-0 win over their home field Friday afternoon.

Barring the astronomically low chances of a tie, only one NHIAA Division III football team was leaving Friday night undefeated and that team turned out to be the Pioneers of Trinity High School.

Trinity defeated Campbell 36 to 22 in a contest that remained close for much of the night, as one would expect from two teams entering the day with matching 4-0 records.
