The Manchester Arts Commission has recently voted to fund and support a new project, “Foodstories – We Are What We Eat: Intersections Between Food, Memory, Identity, and Our Stories.” In its mission to promote all forms of art and culture within the City of Manchester, the support of this new project in the Queen City. The Board of Mayor and Aldermen recently approved the Manchester Arts Commission’s vote to support the project.

The fourth in an ongoing series of Black History plaques was unveiled on June 14 at City Hall Plaza, named “Caesar, Caesar,” honoring Caesar Griffin and Caesar Harvey – two Black residents of Derryfield during the 1700s, who Garrity has identified as Manchester first Black landowners.

It’s also special when this happens with an all-local bill, and that’s exactly what’s going to be happening at The Shaskeen in the heart of downtown Manchester on June 15. Country-rockers Regals are going to be headlining while garage punks Black Hatch and alt-rock act Trash Sun are going to be rounding out the bill. It starts at 8 p.m. and it promises to be a great showcase of musical talents.
