On Dec. 9, Macy’s and Make-A-Wish will celebrate the eighth annual National Believe Day, a pinnacle moment of this year’s Believe campaign. Macy’s will commemorate the occasion with a double donation for the Believe letter writing program and the return of Wishes Across America, a day devoted to granting incredible wishes for children across the country with life-threatening medical conditions.

Bob’s outreach team was joined by a face painter for the event, and donated 100 copies of Rabe’s book, as well as 100 “Cat in the Hat” character hats, and 100 Bob’s Discount Furniture blankets. Bob’s partnered with Reach Out and Read to create the year-long “Rocking the Road to Read with Bob’s Outreach,” to increase early literacy by bringing smiles and books to local children.

Downtown Manchester Holiday Market will be held on three Thursdays, December 1, 8, 15, inside the Brady Sullivan Plaza at 1000 Elm Street from 10 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. There will be an additional market day on Saturday, December 10 from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.. At each market, there will be more than 50 vendors in attendance (see list below). Shoppers will find different types of handcrafted jewelry, glass ornaments, handmade wooden products, baked goods, fine artwork, glassware, clothing, accessories, and so much more.

Families in Transition (FIT), a Manchester, Concord, and Dover, NH, based homeless services provider, raised $68,000 at their second I AM ONE Fashion Extravaganza event in Manchester on Friday, November 18, 2016. Funds raised at the event will be used towards programming at their Family Willows Substance Use Treatment Center, housing for homeless families, therapeutic services for homeless preschoolers, and for basic necessities for the organization’s participants.

First stop was Chantenay Patisserie & Bakery, where I picked up a quartet of round rye dinner rolls and two gourmet cookies. From there I made my way around – a pair of large beets and a handful of tiny hot peppers from Fresh Start Farms; a bag of honey crisp apples from Hackleboro Orchards; a pound of freshly-milled wheat flour from The Root Seller; six ears of sweet corn from Country Dreams Farm; a little bear filled with raw blueberry honey (because the bees only feasted on blueberry bushes) from DJ’s Natural Honey; and a dozen eggs in various shades of tan from Julie’s Happy Hens.
