Drawing and painting portraits all started fittingly enough with one of Courtney Love in 1995 for Ellie Swiezynski, as she and her spouse Melissa LeClerc are big concert fans. Her early shaded pencil work has given way to vibrant acrylics on wood. Swiezynski will be displaying her work in the Pride vendor area in Veteran’s Park on June 15, the day of Manchester’s Pride parade.

There were comments about the legitimacy of the trial and verdict, and there was celebration that ‘justice had been served’ and ‘no one is above the law.” More than either of those, the comments about the new status of “felon” for the former president were the comments that created the most interesting paradox in many interactions.

On May 13 and 14, as part of a parking lot repaving upgrade project directed by Market Basket (MB) in Milford, NH, and carried out by the contractor Continental Paving, about a half-acre of wet pond at the property’s entrance was dredged. The pond, designed in 1995 for stormwater drainage, had become populated by a dense stand of cattails that served as a nesting site for red-winged blackbirds and grackles.
