As citizens in a democracy, we’re asked very little of us. But it is our collective civic duty to research the people we’d like to represent us and get out to cast our support for said candidates, regardless of one’s politics. It’s a job where we only need to punch the timecard—at most—twice a year and, yes, our votes matter.

Since the start of the pandemic, New Hampshire, like the rest of the country, has seen soaring rates of stress, anxiety, and depression among children, youth, and young adults.
Our municipal government provides these essential services and our Mayor, and Alderman, and School Committee members make the decisions. It is not only our obligation but our privilege to decide who will be leading Manchester for the next several years.
Longtime NH resident Shaunte Whitted is owner of SDW Communications where she does public relations, event planning, social media management, as well as assisting companies with fundraising. She is a doting mother, daughter and friend and passionate community activist.
For my wife and me, our newfound freedom can only be appreciated through the age-old art of indolence. We do nothing on Mondays simply because we can.
So if you’re ready for positive change, transparency in small government, and an Alderman who genuinely has the best interests of the people at heart, please vote for June Trisciani for Alderman at Large.
A couple days earlier, we had received word from a friend in the area that there were some busted down, haunted boxcars sitting on the tracks near the Hannah Duston Memorial Historic Site in Boscawen. Of all places, this seemed to be the most likely haunt for ghosts.

Last year’s flu rates were historically low, largely credited to masking, social distancing, remote work and learning, and avoiding crowds. As many activities have resumed, some experts warn that infection rates for both flu and COVID-19 could rise this winter.
About 4 years ago I became homeless in Manchester and New Horizons was where I went.
The protest was a follow-up to a lengthy public statement anonymous activists, residents and former staff submitted to the shelter’s board of directors, and a speech delivered by Brandon Lemay, Rights and Democracy Organizer, at the behest of the Manchester Houseless Union and Friends, to the Board of Mayor and Aldermen earlier in the week.
While I would like to claim to be unbiased, the caveat of this article is: I may not be. I’ve lived among homeless people and seen what it does to people. I’ve slept at the shelter, and was fortunate enough to come out the other end in a better situation than when I started. In my case, Families in Transition has been good for me.

On Wednesday, Oct. 20, employees for the General Electric (GE) Aviation Company in Hooksett organized a demonstration outside the workplace to protest a GE corporate mandate that all employees must receive a COVID-19 vaccine, or potentially lose their jobs.
As you know, my previous life companion, Lucy, died a little over a year ago and is buried in the cabin’s backyard. Lucy, who happened to have manifested in dog form, was also smarter, more insightful and attractive than I. She was funnier, too. You brought her into my life for eight-and-a-half wonderful years, and I bear you no ill will for taking her away. Still . . . I miss her intensely and painfully every day. Which leads to this third letter in three years.
