It’s my view that the City has ignored the housing issue for decades. This situation at 405 Manchester St. will happen again and again until the City makes the decision to take the problem seriously.
On our most recent visit, that meant an order of watermelon jalapeño, which my husband welcomed with open mouth. It was a little to avant-garde for me, but he had no trouble finishing all six wings on his own.
There will be a public meeting on Friday September 26 at noon in the downstairs
auditorium of the Manchester Public Library at 405 Pine Street. Construction work in the
Hanover Street area will be discussed.
Slam Free or Die, in association with the Poetry Society of New Hampshire, will host the second annual NorthBeast Underground Team Slam (N.U.T.S.), Friday, Sept. 26 and Saturday, Sept. 27, 2014 at Milly’s Tavern in Manchester. The two-day event offers poetry writing and performance workshops and will culminate in a battle of words that will make the winning team $1,000 richer. Area poets are invited to compete, and the poetry battles, or bouts, are open to the public.

Yep, that’s right. Here in America, we have a national holiday honoring the Labor Movement. Just like Presidents Day, Veterans Day and Christmas Day. (But I betcha Fox News won’t be covering “the war on Labor Day.”)

My high school campus ends within 50 feet of that park. I park my car at its perimeter. Students don’t feel safe and it doesn’t seem like the authorities are exerting a lot of power to fix this. It’s frustrating to a lot of people, not just the neighbors and it’s sad to see my community crumble.
Sadly, when Veterans Park was seeing an influx of homeless and ‘crowds’, the city simply removed the benches at the entrance to the park. It does nothing to deter them; it simply makes them migrate to another park or place to hang out.
