Cause of Morgan Street fire under investigation, 1 person injured

MANCHESTER, NH โ€“ย A woman was transported with serious injuries after a fire at a Morgan Street home Saturday.

Companies were dispatched for smoke coming from a two-storyย  residential structure on Dec. 6 at around 4:01 p.m. Engine 6 arrived on scene, reported smoke showingย  from the rear porches, and announced a working fire.

Upon further investigation, the fire wasย  located in the basement and attack lines were deployed. While fire suppression efforts wereย  under way Truck 6 found one occupant located in the first floor living room and removed them from the home. The ALS unit on scene transported that patient to the Catholic Medical Center.ย  The fire was extinguished and extensive overhaul was performed. The fire was contained toย  the basement area.ย ย

  • Special Circumstances: Icy roadways and limited access to the basement area of the  structure.  
  • Fire Cause: Not known at this time. Still under investigation by the MFD Fire Prevention  Bureau
