The Democratic party leadership gathered in Manchester on Monday afternoon for the last time in this year’s election cycle. Elected officials, candidates, party officials, and a standing-room-only crowd of volunteers filled the Manchester Harris-Walz campaign office for the last time before voting starts on Tuesday.
Republican Vice Presidential candidate Senator J.D. Vance traveled to Derry Sunday to campaign. Sending the number two on the ticket to the Granite State two days before the election shows the Republicans fighting for New Hampshire’s four electoral college votes.
Clinton has a long history with Granite State and New Hampshire’s democratic party establishment. His 1992 NH Primary race earned him the “Comeback Kid” nickname and began decades-long friendships. US Senator Jeanne Shaheen and her husband Billie are two friends in attendance. The Senator kicked off the slate of speeches.
“This may be the most important election of our lifetime. You know, we say that every election. But I think this year, it really is true. Because we have a choice between two very different ideas for the future of America in this election.” said Shaheen.
New Hampshire’s candidates for the 2nd Congressional District seat being vacated by Congresswoman Annie Kuster participated in a candidate forum in Concord. Democrat Maggie Goodlander and Republican Lily Tang-Williams met in the studio of New Hampshire Public Radio (NHPR) for the last time before the November 5th general election.
AFT president and former high school teacher Randi Weingarten began her talk with a homework assignment. Holding up a well-worn copy of Timothy Snyder’s “On Tyranny,” she suggested it as an important guide to this moment and the stakes of the election
Today was different. Air Force One delivered President Joe Biden to New Hampshire for possibly the last time during his presidency. After January, the next time the highly customized Boeing 747-200B series aircraft with the tail code 2900 lands in NH it will carry a different President. The next time Joe Biden travels here he will be a former President.
“Make no mistake about it. Reproductive rights are on the ballot this year. And Donald Trump’s position is clear,” said Soucy. “And Trump isn’t alone. I’ve seen firsthand extreme Republicans in our state stand with Trump in his efforts to take away fundamental freedoms. In just two years, New Hampshire Republicans have proposed multiple abortion bans, even a 15-day, let me repeat that, a 15-day ban with the majority of House Republicans voting for a near-total abortion ban.”
Nashua native Matty Gregg runs a lot. While many consider a marathon (26.2 miles) the ultimate run, he takes it to the next level. Matty is an ultramarathoner which means he competes in 50K (31 KM) and 100 km (52KM) races.
New Hampshire’s annual Fall ritual, the 2024 Deerfield Fair is underway this weekend. Judging by the crowds who came in droves today and the forecast for perfect fall weather for the weekend this may turn out to be a banner year for the fair.
The fair will be open Saturday from 8 am to 6 pm and on Sunday from 8 am to 10 pm. This will be the last two days of this year’s edition of the historic agricultural fair
Democratic candidate for governor and former Manchester Mayor Joyce Craig and current Nashua Mayor Jim Donchess have often joined together to tackle issues facing their respective cities. On Thursday they joined together to call attention to a supporter of Republican candidate Kelly Ayotte who appears in her campaign ads.
New Hampshire’s candidates for governor faced off for a debate sponsored by the Nashua Chamber of Commerce in Nashua this morning. Republican candidate Kelly Ayotte, Democratic candidate Joyce Craig, and Libertarian candidate Stephen Villee took the stage at the Event Center by Marriot to discuss the issues facing the Granite State.
Republican National Committee Chairman (RNC) Micheal Whatley traveled to the Granite State and spoke to a group of Republican activists who had gathered for poll watcher and poll worker training. The event was held at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics (NHIOP) at Saint Anselm College in Manchester.

Citing the importance of small businesses in the economy and their job-generating capacity she announced a proposed plan of tax incentives for start-ups. Currently, a new business can deduct $5,000 in start-up expenses. She called for a tenfold increase to a $50,000 deduction and a reduction in red tape to incentivize new business formation.
Once built and operational the lab will have a staff of more than 50 and the DEA expects to process more than 5,000 drug exhibits a year. The lab will provide forensic analysis for drug investigations for the entire DEA New England Field Division covering New Hampshire, Maine, Vermont, Connecticut, Rhode Island, and upstate New York. Regional laboratories process evidence for the DEA, FBI, ATF, DHS, and state and local agencies.
A large section of the F.E. Everett Turnpike is in the process of being transformed. The State of NH Department of Transportation has designed and awarded multiple contracts to widen portions of the roadway and replace and rehabilitate bridges in the 12-mile stretch from Nashua to Bedford.
On Wednesday the Harris for President campaign held a reproductive freedom rally in Concord as part of their nationwide “Fight for Reproductive Freedom” Week of Action. Second Gentlemen Doug Emhoff was the keynote speaker for the event.
