A proposal to convert a former office building at 22 Hazel St. into five apartments moved forward at the Manchester Planning Board’s first meeting of February after the property owner withdrew an earlier plan to create a 14-unit rooming house that drew significant neighborhood opposition last fall.

Following the Executive Council’s denial of the Department of Safety’s request to extend the termination date of the State’s vehicle inspection contract with Gordon-Darby NHOST, Inc, the State currently has no approved vendor to operate the State’s vehicle inspection program.  As a result, and after careful review of the legal implications under current state statutes of the lack of an approved vendor, the vehicle inspection program is suspended until further notice.

In a 10-8 vote on Feb. 10, the New Hampshire House of Representatives Committee on Education Funding approved an Inexpedient to Legislate (ITL) recommendation on HB 1831, a bill that would prevent approximately $10 million in state aid cuts to the Manchester School District.

Maggie Hassan, D-NH, was told during a Thursday Senate hearing by the acting director of ICE that the Department of Homeland Security “has worked with Governor Ayotte” on the economic impact of a proposed Merrimack ICE detention center, the governor released documents she says her office just requested and received following Thursday’s hearing.

Our school is open to any child residing in New Hampshire in grades K-6. Previous Montessori school experience is not necessary to attend Mill Falls Montessori. Students must be 5 years old before September 1, 2026 to enroll in the kindergarten program.
