As the Director of a Senior Center in New Hampshire, I saw firsthand the burden of high prescription drug prices on our members. Many shared with me how they had to go without medication because they couldn’t afford the price tag. Often, tragically, this resulted in serious medical problems or hospital stays.
The charter revision was never adopted, but the city’s Board of Mayor and Alderman did subsequently approve a long-overdue salary bump for the person who captured the mayoralty in 2023, a bit of nuance the Ayotte campaign fails to note in its TV spot, thereby intentionally creating the false impression that Craig was feathering her own nest despite never receiving a raise as mayor.
I’m talking, of course, about demonic possession. If a character is possessed by a demonic spirit, I’m out. If a ouija board is in any way part of the mise en scène, I’m also out. Demonic possession is a surefire way to freak out a Catholic—even a lapsed-Catholic, like me.
I feel I am dancing on the edge of a knife (the unsharp side, of course) where one side is retirement, and the other side is work. I’m playing the middle at this point as I garner the benefits of each side: I work as a nurse on my terms, not constrained by full or part-time work, but being available as a substitute nurse or for working full-time for a specific period of time. (Look out, I may be administering flu shots at your CVS!) At this point in my life, I need that structure, collegiality, and the ability to work with the public. Okay, and the money doesn’t hurt.
Most Americans describe themselves as socially tolerant and fiscally responsible. “Live and let live” has always been our gold standard, and keeping our neighbors and government out of our lives as much as possible has always been the goal.
Today, no political party stands for the fundamental liberal values that we claim to support.
Unfortunately, lead screening rates have been declining. Since 2019, New Hampshire has seen a 25% drop in lead screening rates for children aged 72-months and younger. At Elliot Health System, we recognized this trend and identified an opportunity to improve care for some of our most vulnerable patients—infants and young children.
For way too long these proven programs have had to hide in the shadows, due to general ignorance about their successes in maintaining a healthy community, and to the general stigma surrounding drugs which are consumed with needles (rather than just smoking or drinking).
I want to let my friends and neighbors who live in Manchester Wards 6, 8, and 9 know why I believe Maxine Mosley deserves your vote in the upcoming election for one of the two House of Representative seats in Hillsborough District 39.
Recently I was playing a game of Kahoot with a roomful of youth in 6th through 12th grade (GenZ and GenAlpha) and a question regarding President Reagan came up. One of the youth shouted out, “Who is Ronald Reagan?” And almost none of the youth knew who Reagan was…and sadly most of the youth are in high school.
