Ruais was required to present a tax-cap compliant budget in March, which he did. Most years the Aldermen then either accept the mayor’s proposal or present their own proposal, something that was not released to the public this year. Ruais later told Manchester Ink Link that an Aldermanic proposal had been delayed after additional surplus funding was sought to lower property taxes beyond just over the initial approximate $1 million amount.

Free youth day programs will be offered again this summer at the Owl Brook Hunter Education Center in Holderness. These programs give boys and girls ages 10–15 the chance to learn about shooting sports, bowhunting, and other outdoor skills. Sessions will be offered in July and August at Owl Brook, which is operated by the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department.

In 2022, the city was already starting to see residential projects, particularly downtown and in the Millyard taking off. But things picked up after the $44 million Build Back Better Regional Challenge grant was awarded by the U.S. Economic Development Administration, announced in November of that year, Jodie Nazaka, director of the Manchester Development Office, told Ink Link Tuesday. “That’s a trend we don’t see slowing down anytime soon,” she said.

Live Nation controls one of the most important parts of New Hampshire’s live entertainment industry: the BankNH Pavilion located near Lake Winnipesaukee.  Live Nation is also the exclusive ticketer to some of the largest concert venues in New Hampshire, including the SNHU Arena. Live Nation’s dominance has particularly impacted fans who attend shows at New Hampshire venues.  Ticketmaster sales data shows that these fans are subject to some of the highest markup rates in the nation when it comes to the face value of a ticket versus the actual price after fees and costs are included.

On Tuesday night, the Manchester Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BMA) agreed to allow department heads to skip Aldermanic meetings moving forward unless they were listed to speak on that meeting’s agenda or were summoned for a question by one of the Aldermen more than 24 hours in advance of a meeting.
