Just hours after U.S. Sen. Maggie Hassan, D-NH, was told during a Thursday Senate hearing by the acting director of ICE that the Department of Homeland Security “has worked with Governor Ayotte” on the economic impact of a proposed Merrimack ICE detention center, the governor released documents she says her office just requested and received following Thursday’s hearing.

The Committee to Save the Derry Rail Trail Tunnel and Rails to  Trails Conservancy announced today that a settlement has been reached in their lawsuit against the New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) challenging construction of Phase 2 of the Exit 4A I-93 expansion in Derry in order to protect the Manchester & Lawrence Railroad Historic District and the Derry  Rail Trail.

Throughout her 45-minute attempt at a victory lap, the Governor rattled off a laundry list of “accomplishments” and cherry-picked accolades from her time on the job. But at no point in her remarks did Ayotte display a genuine understanding of the dire financial straits that Granite Staters are facing under Republican leadership. And for all her talk about prioritizing affordability, she has a track record that says the exact opposite.
