NH Voter ID Law
In-person voting requirements for the 2025 election:
- Photo ID is required: All voters must present a valid photo ID to a ballot clerk before receiving a ballot.
- No more affidavit voting: An individual without a photo ID will be turned away from the polls and must return with an acceptable ID to vote. This eliminates the previous option of signing an affidavit and having a photo taken at the polling place.
- Acceptable IDs: Accepted photo identification includes:
- Driver’s license or non-driver ID issued by any state or the federal government.
- U.S. armed services ID card.
- U.S. passport or passcard.
- Student ID from an approved New Hampshire college, university, or high school.
