A man and his five children were crossing Belmont Street Thursday afternoon when, he told police, “something came flying out of the sky,” striking his 11-year-old daughter, and his younger daughter, who turns 1 on Saturday, seriously injuring them.

A Smartasset analysis of how much income it takes to live in each state ranked the Granite State 12th for individuals and 11th for a family of four.

As part of a bipartisan coalition of 28 states, NH Attorney General John Formella announced he is filing a lawsuit on behalf of New Hampshire consumers, objecting to the proposed sale of personal genetic information collected by 23andMe. The complaint and a separate objection to the bankruptcy sale, each filed in federal bankruptcy court, aim to stop 23andMe from auctioning off the private genetic data of roughly 15 million customers to the highest bidder without customers’ knowledge or consent.

More than five decades later, the Cold Case Unit remains committed to solving this crime. New Hampshire Department of Justice Deputy Chief Investigator Todd Flanagan, currently assigned to the case, recently visited Joanne’s burial site and was deeply saddened to find her grave remained unmarked. In coordination with the NH DOJ’s Office of Victim/Witness Assistance and Victim’s Compensation Program, steps were immediately taken to assist the Dunham family in placing a headstone at her gravesite.
