I still think of Rachel every year around this time, as my Facebook feed fills with mortar-board hats, acceptance letters, and congratulatory yard signs, and I wonder how many of those gleeful graduates have their next several decades mapped out, and how many are secretly terrified by their lack of a map.  I was terrified at graduation, and for decades afterwards; but I can say now that loved the journey, and I love where it brought me.

State leaders are limiting the ability to meet the differing needs of Granite Staters. By inserting sections 451 and 452 into the State Budget (HB 2), they would ban all programs tailored to people based on their age, disability status, gender, or race, among other factors. This applies to state, municipal, and school programs.

“As we heard this morning, as we were talking about what the impact of potential cuts to the AmeriCorps program would be, it’s not going to save money,” said Senator Shaheen. “What it’s going to do is downshift those costs to local communities, and it’s going to actually cost us more. So this is all a foolhardy effort.”
