One could say that the sidewalks in downtown Manchester were hot enough to fry an egg on Tuesday and on Tuesday evening, local residents gathered at the Rex Theatre to share ideas on how to fix local sidewalks so they could fry eggs on them the next time it got this hot…or, maybe to make it easier to walk on them.

I recently wrote an opinion piece after the New Hampshire House passed a budget proposal, but before the budget had moved to the Senate. I stated I was a registered Independent and that the Republican state legislature was being controlled by the Free Staters. I spoke about how the House budget impacted the poor and the middle class in NH, and that because the House was controlled by the Free Staters, this budget was a means to their ends…dismantling of government, public education, healthcare, and more in the state of New Hampshire.

New Hampshire Secretary of State David M. Scanlan on Friday co-hosted a naturalization ceremony with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) at the New Hampshire State Archives. Governor Kelly Ayotte and Concord Mayor Byron Champlin were among those who addressed New Hampshire’s newest U.S. citizens.

After four hours of deliberation, the Hillsborough County Delegation Convention approved a $148,319,029 budget for Fiscal Year 2026. That amount included $1,624,206 for covering the cost of three new collective bargaining agreements with county employees and did not include a $734,781 amount for a potential contract between the county and U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, better known as ICE.
