Co-authors Terry Farish and Lochan Sharma, in partnership with Building Community in New Hampshire, are hosting a discussion about immigration and belonging in New Hampshire on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 4 – 6 p.m. at the Bookery in Manchester. The discussion will center around their newly released book, Go Home, a YA novel that explores identity, community, and belonging through the lens of three teenagers.

Every fall, the credit union allows New Hampshire nonprofits to request up to 300 “Stay Warm” bags, each filled with a blanket, hat, scarf and gloves to distribute to any individuals who may need them. Now in its fifth year, Service Credit Union has raised the total amount of available bags to 7,000 to help fill the needs of its community partners. Currently, just under 1,000 bags remain to be claimed by nonprofits.

In recognition of World Mental Health Day on October 10, students from across the Manchester School District are helping to launch a new campaign to better connect middle and high school students to emotional wellbeing and school safety resources. The campaign, entitled M-Power, is designed to promote youth mental health, reduce stigma, and encourage students to reach out and connect to services. The campaign also encourages students to speak up if there is knowledge of a threat to school safety or someone’s personal safety.
